An Authors Journey

I didn’t think I had something worth sharing until I let my younger sisters read the first thirteen chapters. That was all I had at the time. One of my sisters (Kayla, age 19) has read many, many New York Times Best Sellers such as Hunger Games, A Court of Thornes and Roses, Divergent, Twilight, The Cruel Prince, and many oldies but goodies such as Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, Pride and Prejudice, Jain Eire, to name a few, and said that it was very good and worth writing.

My other sister (Tabetha, age 15) is not a reader and have never liked books, that was until I read her mine. After staying up for roughly five hours reading what I had, she was so invested into the story that SHE told me to keep writing it. I knew in that moment that I might have something really good since someone who didn’t like to read or listen to audiobooks liked my work. I couldn’t believe they liked it, but now I see that I didn’t believe in myself to wright something that was actually worth something. My sisters are definitely my cheerleading team.
I sent the first thirteen chapters to one of my dear friends who has proofread many independent published works and her response was very positive. She and my sisters encouraged me to keep writing it and after roughly five months I finished the first draft of my first maneurscript.
After the first draft was done, I let my eldest sister (Hannah, age 23) read it and her response was positive and had even asked when she was done reading it if I had the second one written.

I am so excited to have you on this journey with me.
